Korzo theatre in the Prinsestraat
You’re not to know better than that Korzo theatre and Korzo Productions are situated in the Prinsestraat, in the old town center of The Hague. You would just walk into the Prinsestraat and the arch of red neon letters of theatre was impossible to miss. There was a little theatre behind the façade and neon arch, where, upon entry one would find a vital center of the arts. It was a beehive of activity with a nice mixture of curious visitors, fervent dance lovers, choreographers, composers, dancers coming and going, and the old familiar Korzo staff.

But little theatres tend to get bigger…

Renovation Korzo complex Prinsestraat
Korzo has closed the doors of the complex at the Prinsestraat as of March 2008 temporarily. The theatre – in spite of the cozy and intimate atmosphere – no longer meets the demands of the modern theatre and production house. The capacity of the foyer proved inadequate with full houses, the cloakroom and other public facilities were out of date, and the production house was bursting at the seams and needed more rehearsal space. All reasons which led Korzo and the City of The Hague to decide to renovate the building in order to bring the facilities up to date.
  Korzo programming continues: Korzo5HOOG
Naturally, this does not mean that you will have to miss Korzo for the duration of the renovation! In this period – estimated at around eighteen months – Korzo will move with theatre and offices into Korzo5HOOG: the fifth floor of the BINK36 complex (Binckhorstlaan 36, at the beginning of the Binckhorst, between the two train stations Den Haag HS and CS). We will continue to offer the theatre programming you’ve come to expect from Korzo, at this new location surrounded by many creative small businesses.

Wat can you expect from Korzo5HOOG?
At Korzo5HOOG choreographers, video artists, directors, musicians from all over the world, but also visitors and other creative businesses tell their story in dance, music, theatre, or a mixture of the above. Stories that will move you, make you think, make you laugh and cry; they will offer you a chance to escape the order of the day. After a visit to Korzo5HOOG you will very likely leave this remarkable building in a state of surprise, confusion, amusement, and/ or fascination. That’s why Korzo means more than an evening at the theatre: Korzo offers you a theatre experience.
  Curious?
A visit to Korzo5HOOG can be quite unpredictable. However, those who dare will be pleasantly surprised. Korzo makes performances for everyone who looks further than the end of their own nose, for people who are particularly curious, and are in for an out-of-the-ordinary evening of theatre. And all this at a low price. In addition, if you like, you can even have a meal or drinks against the view of the skyline of The Hague, and in the summer enjoy drinks on the large balconies that offer a view of the entire city.
