The third edition of World Sessions presents the great talent Netsayi who has built a reputation as an excellent and intimate live performer. She combines and merges the richness of African pop, jazz, soul, and folk into an original and personal sound. The Zimbabwean Londoner tells stories from everyday life. Netsayi is a singer-songwriter with a mission. Her tone is that of social commitment, sometimes playful, sometimes indignant, but always inspired. The Observer Music Monthly calls her music “reminiscent of Soul from the period of the Human Rights Movement. After her debut Chimurenga Soul (2007), her second cd is expected to be released in April 2009.
