Big Indian Dance Battle

 In the month of October, events will be staged throughout The Hague highlighting Indian culture. Dance, music, cinema, and visual art: all of The Hague will breath the atmosphere of India. Platform Indian Dance, Kosmopolis Den Haag, Culturalis, and Korzo join forces for the India Dans Festival, a weekend highlighting both traditional and contemporary Indian dance in the Netherlands; from Bharatanatyam to Bollywood, and from Urban Indian to modern dance. The performances and workshops offer a stage to young and advanced talent; there is a debate about developments in contemporary and classical Indian dance, and delicious food.

In the daytime workshops may be attended in various dance styles. The program begins on Saturday evening with a real Indian Dance Battle. Sunday continues with the big hit performance Door de Ogen van mijn Stad with twenty Hindustani dancers from The Hague, and in the evening New India, a program full of short pieces with Revanta Sarabhai among others.
