The concept of ‘home’ is more complex than just the place where people live. It is a safe haven, but can also be a place of traumatic experiences and violence. A house isolates people, but it also brings one closer to family and self. On the one hand a home provides stability, but on the other it can be a prison. Tomoko Mukaiyama, a director, choreographer, composer and video artist, has created the impressive installation performance HOME. Ema Yuasa, a former dancer of NDT, takes the audience past various stages in the life of one woman. We join her in a room, where we look through the window to the outside world.
