Intercity Sessions

Ensemble Modelo62

The ensemble from The Hague Modelo62 presents a second edition of their traveling program Intercity Sessions. They perform music written by local composers and work that’s rarely if ever heard in this country. Ilya Zyblat from The Hague makes a new piece in which he uses the ensemble as an improvising collective. The ensemble literally embraces the audience with their music  - they are set up around the listeners. They play dlXsf by the American Alex Sigman, one of the founders of Modelo62. This is the last part of a cycle based on the cyberpunk novel Vurt by Jeff Noon. The story is set in a virtual reality world where dreams are stimulated through the use of psychedelic drugs. He also uses songs from the eighties by Manchester bands.

To gain more insight into the music, those interested can apply for Instappen62, a listening clinic. To apply go to the ensemble’s website www.modelo62.com

Other composers in the series include: Samuel Vriezen, Bart de Vrees, Cornelius Cardew, Alison Isadora, Maya Felixbrodt, Jan Khur and Diego Taranto.
