All senses will be disrupted on the last day. The evening begins with Cinedans, Internationally one of the leading institutions in the area where cinema and dance overlap. A Panorama specially compiled from their collection for The Lighthouse will be shown throughout the festival. This evening they show highlights from their short film program.
After Cinedans’ many images follows After Image by Janne Eraker and Jorg Schellekens, a choreography to the pulse of three stroboscopes as a physical study of the afterimage effect. An equally memorable encounter takes place between DJ Alec Smart and media artist Frieder Weiss in his role of interactive iVJ. They do the warm up for the audio/video remix artists of Addictive TV who came specially from London for The Lighthouse for an unparalleled remix with stumbling beats and dazzling film samples.
2012 is a dance on the volcano; The Lighthouse turns its pirouettes ‘at the end of the world as we know it’. Who better to close the festival than Joeri Dubbe, who in his role of DJ chops up the times in which we live in 150 beats per minute? No, we still have a long way to go yet.

Korzo presents a new festival in The Hague from 13 till 17 March: The Lighthouse. Dutch and international acts will set the Korzo building ablaze. The festival brings artists together from many directions and disciplines in a rush of creativity. As a beacon to head for, a shining source of hope, faith, and inspiration. For five days the arts will bring enlightenment: at the entrance, in the foyer, the dressing rooms, even the restrooms. And aside from the installations that are continually on display throughout the festival, each day is completely different.
