The young Ensemble Modelo62 from The Hague presents new music without the stiff ritual of a classical concert, and plays with the intensity of a rock band. Their guest for some time to come will be composer and sonologist Hugo Morales Murguía from Mexico. His work is based on the playing of unusual instruments and the unconventional use of traditional instruments. He manages to coax sounds from instruments and everyday objects that you never thought were possible. Ensemble Modelo 62 has recreated Hugo’s experiments and you can hear their results in soundeconstruction during Dag in de Branding. In addition they will also play works by three composers who have inspired Hugo Morales: John Cage, Alvin Lucier, and Gilius van Bergeijk.
