This season Korzo will offer on top of the Monday Movement Classes a number of workshops in which the open exchange between choreographers and participants of all levels can be intensified. At the last weekend of September the workshop will be led by the choreographer Edan Gorlicki, who is the original teacher of the Movement Research Classes at Random Collision in Groningen. Together with the participants of these classes , he worked on and developed a system for movement research called LAMA. It is possible to follow the workshop for just one day.
Duration: 4 hours per day
Costs: € 25,- per day / € 40,- for both days
For both professionals dancers as non-dancers.
The basic interest and research in LAMA is to explore the relationship between movement and presence. The source of this study came from working with non-professional dancers in order to discover movement from a more natural approach and implement it into the “dancer’s” mind. LAMA focuses mainly on presence, body awareness, and studying personal qualities, and at the same time building stamina, form and control. LAMA brings into consciousness our connection as humans to our physicality, imagination, senses, observation skills and fun. LAMA is very much inspired by the methods and techniques that come from Edan's professional experience including GAGA, Ballet, Cunningham, Fascia Therapy but mainly common sense. The workshops consist of a LAMA class, discussions, experiments and personal (one on one) research of exploring how the method connects to personality and daily life.
LAMA was developed within the framework of the Random Collision working method.
