In the series Intercity Sessions, Ensemble Modelo62 presents the broad and colourful palette of experimental/contemporary music in a way that is totally direct and devoid of extra-musical ornaments so that you can immediately come into contact with the music.
This concert focuses on music from local artists. Samuel Vriezen (Amsterdam) has written a sort of ‘game’, where the instrumentalists play lines that they pass from one to another. Bart de Vrees (Amsterdam), is inspired by collage, sampling and the idea of a rapidly changing stream of information. In Une semaine de bonté he cuts up and reorganises illustrations from Victorian encyclopedias and novels. Ilya Zyblat (The Hague) presents a brand new work in which he uses the ensemble as an improvising collective. They leterally embrace the audience with their music - they are set up around the listener. Maya Felixbrodt also presents a new work that includes audience participation.
