To celebrate the Cyprus Presidency of the EU Council, a number of cultural activities are organised by the Embassy of Cyprus in The Hague to showcase the country’s rich contemporary culture. One of the most exceptional contemporary Cypriot artists is dancer/choreographer Lia Haraki. Her solo ‘Tune In’ is the second of a series of works which research the ways in which repetition can stimulate a kinesthetic response (Again in 2011, INTUNITION in 2012). In ‘Tune In’ the artist explores how motion brings emotion and how, by witnessing this process, one can reach a new state of being.
Lia Haraki was born in 1975 in Limassol, Cyprus. She founded the company .pelma.lia haraki which supports her work in 2003. She has performed to great acclaim in Cyprus and abroad including in festivals such the Kalamata International Festival, Aerowaves London and Tanec Praha. Her work has received numerous awards.
