Rewire x Korzo #7

The Jon Gibson Group plays Visitations, Andrea Belfi, Tara Transitory aka One Man Nation

Originally recorded for Philip Glass's private press label Chatham Square, Jon Gibson’s Visitations is a minimalist masterpiece. Gibson, and his new ensemble re-imagine the piece with modular synthesizers, quadrophonic sound, and a film entitled One Way depicting the California desert. In the film, the seemingly never ending desert landscape of America perfectly reflects the expanse of Visitations and takes the audience alongside a ritualistic road trip unlike any other.

Andrea Belfi is a drummer, composer and experimental musician. Artfully blending the acoustic with the electronic, his performances are equal parts energetic and hypnotic, featuring long-arching soundscapes that are rich and immersive. A live performer at heart, Belfi’s music comes to life on stage where he’s built a reputation for electrifying drum solos and off the cuff improvisations. Earlier this year, Andrea Belfi released his new studio album Ore. Belfi is also known for his performances with Nils Frahm's Nonkeen project.

Tara Transitory aka One Man Nation embraces performance as an explicit expression against the prefabrication of culture: "I do not make music per se, I create experiences, I try bring people on a trip out of our reality through performance and the use of sounds."
