Bouncing saxophones, thundering drums, and screaming guitars. Slam, Pluck & Blow is a back-to-basics program by the energetic ensemble from The Hague, Klang. They have often surprised colleagues and the public with their varied projects and daring choices. Klang has accumulated an impressive repertoire of pieces written especially for them. They establish a unique and versatile sound with saxophones, trombone, keyboards, percussion, and guitar; it can vary from fragile and intimate to the driving power of a big band. In this concert they perform five premieres by composers Christopher Fox, Guiliano Bracci, Ruby Fulton, Peter Adriaansz and Maarten Altena.
Christopher Fox - Schwarz-weiss (world premiere) [12']
Giuliano Bracci - new work (world premiere) [7']
Maarten Altena - Slam, Pluck & Blow (world premiere) [23']
Peter Adriaansz - Phrase & Fraction (Dutch premiere) [16']
Ruby Fulton - the most dangerous music in America (world premiere) [12']
