Meet the winner of the BNG Bank Dance Award
Welcome to DansClick. On this intimate evening, we as an audience will get even closer to talented makers. With personal video portraits, two performances and a drink!
This year, dancer and choreographer Melisa Diktaş became the winner of the BGN Bank Dance Award. With this distinction, she wins a national tour with her performance ‘Dat wat ontembaar is (translation: That which is untamed): criatura’. The Kurdish and Indonesian maker takes you to that which lives on the edge of the world. A compelling solo performance about struggle, resilience and pure survival.
Our own resident maker Constantin Trommlitz will also hop onto the floor tonight with his performance Antibodies. He will accompany Melisa on tour. Antibodies is a duet in which dancers explore the scope of their relationship with pain. Because pain can divide, but pain can also be shared: isolating, but also soothing.
And of course there is the Après Danse; where makers, dancers and you can hang out together at the bar (drinks on us!). See you at DansClick!
Melisa approaches the creative process from a deep connection with her origins. Her work explores what connects us and sets us apart. Her choreographies have been presented in Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Belgium, Kurdistan and the Netherlands. She mainly works as a performer in theatrical productions, collaborating with a wide range of companies, choreographers, poets and events. Since graduating nine years ago from the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts, she has continuously immersed herself in the professional field, building up a wealth of experience, continuously refining her craft.
Constantin Trommlitz (1996) is a German dancer, choreographer and filmmaker. His background in breakdance continues to have a great influence on his work as a choreographer and filmmaker. In Tthe Netherlands he danced with companies such as Danstheater AYA and ISH Collective. His friendship with Zino Schat – founder of Fractal Collective – led to many joint works, both in dance performances and in film work. Since 2022, Constantin has been a house maker at Korzo.
