The foundation aims to promote, disseminate, stimulate, offer and supervise cultural activities from various artistic disciplines, with a focus on their developmental and contemporary character. This is done to stimulate and complement cultural life, particularly in The Hague. The foundation seeks to achieve its objective by, among other things, managing, developing and operating the Korzo theatre, located at Prinsestraat 42 in The Hague, in the broadest sense of the word.

Korzo is an artistic producer and cultural entrepreneur that aims to initiate new developments in contemporary performing arts and to enthuse both audiences and potential financiers for these developments. If a society wishes to continue to produce excellent artists in the future, it is necessary to continue investing in talent. Moreover, it is also extremely inspiring and important for an audience, a city, and a cultural climate to be surprised, to be confronted with new ideas and artistic concepts. Conversely, talent also needs support; talent development cannot happen without public scrutiny.

In order to realise its dual mission, Korzo, which has three auditoriums and three studios at its disposal, aims to scout and mentor talent, but also to produce and present it. The aim is to achieve a fruitful synergy between talent development and acquisition policy.

In doing so, it always seeks dialogue between the various artistic disciplines and between the artist and his audience. Dynamism, diversity, openness and commitment are essential characteristics of Korzo. Based on its mission and objectives, Korzo fulfils a number of related functions in the cultural field in The Hague and the Netherlands and, where possible, abroad. Korzo acts as:

1. Talent developer in contemporary dance and circus
2. A platform for new developments in dance, music, theatre and circus.
3. Promoter of new developments in contemporary dance, music, theatre and circus.

The Korzo Foundation is managed by the management board and operates a Supervisory Board model.

The remuneration of the Executive Board/management is determined by the Supervisory Board and falls within the scope of the Senior Executives in the Public and Semi-Public Sector (Standards for Remuneration) Act (WNT). The members of the Supervisory Board are independent and unpaid. The Supervisory Board applies a retirement schedule. The remuneration policy for the staff of the Korzo Foundation is in accordance with the collective labour agreement (cao) Cao Toneel en Dans. Korzo applies the principles of the Cultural Governance Code in its policy.

According to the articles of association (2000), members are appointed for a term of three years and each member may be reappointed once for the same period. In special cases, a member may be reappointed for another three years.
